ok, so there is just too much to post in my personal blog, so here is everything I have done recently for the local stash game

So I guess being phone less and internet less for a few days did me good! I got a lot of knitting done. It was a very good feeling when I got back online and shared the photos with online "Friends" and was told "you are really talented"

I have never felt that way about myself. In my church we hear a lot that we should develop our talents and share them. I always joke with my husband that the only talent I have is birthing babies and my doula work. I always feel so inadequate around the other ladies in my church because not only do I not really have a talent like they go-but I am the oddball that did not grow up in the church so I still do not know all that everyone else does.

So to hear someone say they think I have talent..well, it did bring me to tears. That really meant a lot to me. It is nice to be recognized by others-especially when you don't see it in yourself.

So on to the knitting:

This is something I crocheted for him on my own. I started with a pattern for the egg and kind of winged it as I went. The ham is totally my own. This is his favorite story to listen to

Today is Autism Awareness Day. This means so much more to me now that Noah has been officially diagnosed. If you don't know much about autism, I would urge you to take a few minutes and just familiarize yourself with it. It is more prevalent then most people know.

These rainbow pants are longies made from the WonderPants pattern

The yarn is Peace Fleece

This first pair was too big. I did the small/medium and it just fell off of him.

The second pair I did the size XS and modified it a bit and they fit him perfect! I love this pattern and how the crotch increases are done. Very nice!

OK, so I have been very busy with making stuff for this little boy. I finally got rid of my fear and took on knit binding on the neckline for shirts. So much easier than FOE!

The shirt pattern is from New Conceptions baby essentials
The sewn pants are from Ottobre Design/ (a wonderful pattern magazine out of Finland)
The knitted longies are from Little Turtle Knits/ picky pants pattern.

so-it seems that this new baby inside of me has sucked out my ability to blog, but now that we are getting closer to delivery, I am getting crafty again.

Here are some projects I have done again for baby Harrison

This is a cloth diaper sleeper sack by dandelion dreamers pattern and a cloth diaper soaker by curly purly pattern.

The Dandelion dreamers sack was kettle dyed BFL in my acorn colorway. The Curly Purly was a plymouth outback yarn.

another sleeper sack out of Malabrigo Tortuga wool yarn. The booties are the Little Turtle Knits stripe bootie pattern and the red/brown soaker is Little Turtle Knits hybrid rib soaker.

Then with fall in the air, I have done some new colorways for my yarn!

First off, some more longies I did for the baby

These were knit from hand dyed malabrigo. size small. combo of the curly purly waist and LTK pattern along with a bit of stacy thrown in. I like the malabrigo for a small baby because it is so soft, and I don't have to worry about pilling as much because they dont' move as much! LOL
ok, so I learned what NOT to do while pregnant and exhausted.KNIT
I must wait until I am more awake before I continue on with what is on my needles. why?? well, because somehow, you can make mistakes. and I could not tell you how I did this....it wasn't that I just didn't move it from one side to the other. I actually KNIT IT into the pattern! Seriously, just could not figure it out! yes, that is my ROW COUNTER!!!!

I thought I had posted these, but I can't see them anywhere.

So this was Isabellas quilt I did for her. All kinds of fun textures in the fabric. I screwed up cutting so a few rows are a bit off, but oh well! It wasn't meant to be perfect!

A rag quilt for a friend who had a preemie baby (I also made some preemie hats, some preemie pants and a quilted tote bag for her daughter)

and the pants:

a quilt square for a friend's quilt who was diagnosed with cancer--she always makes me think of the tree of life, thus the tree -again, my taking pictures straight doesn't seem to happen very often and I had not ironed this yet, but it is/was perfectly square! LOL

and a quilt square for the mom whose daughter died from leukemia very quickly after being diagnosed--she loved to be a princess - the tiara was appliqued

but we have been so busy!
we had the grand opening of our new ONLINE STORE that was an awesome success! We almost sold out everything within 24 hours (most of it was gone the first 30 minutes!!!)
Here are a few things I did just for the store:

Needle rolls for a huge auction that was available

Another set with knitted notions bag...with my OWN pattern! WOO HOO-the yarn is hand dyed BFL

Another cute set, circular roll and markers

And then my beautiful BFL yarn in the Jade Monkey colorway

This is a custom order set I did for a lady on hyenacart, and the goldfish were very hard to send off!

Knitting for others

ok, now that Jessica's baby shower has passed, I can post her gift.
I knit these booties for her from the Little Turtle Knits Striped Slippers pattern.

These were knit out of knitpicks wool of the andes, hand dyed by me in my pumpkin patch colorway. I hand-washed them afterwards with a baby shampoo, and boy were they soft!

I also did my first chemo cap - I did this one for a male/older teen boy. It is the London Beanie Pattern made popular by David Beckham, the popular football player from England

This was knit from Caron Simply Soft acrylic yarn. *GASP* yes I said acrylic! It is actually a very soft yarn, and upon rubbing on the underside of my chin, was found to not be scratchy at all.

I can't show it yet. I have a really cute *THING* for my friends baby blessing shower this week....but I can't show it yet! I will have to wait until after Friday, and then I can post the picture. It is killing me!

I am also working on a chemo cap, our group is doing charity knitting this year. I am almost done with it.

Today, a friend on a message board asked for donations of preemie knitted hats for a friends baby who had just been born weighing 2lbs. So I might whip one up tonight to send out. He does not have a good prognosis, so please keep the family in your thoughts.

Voodoo

Well, I started out making myself VOODOO . About half way through of magic looping (knitting both at the same time on one needle) I still got the dreaded second sock syndrome and didn't want to finish!
I ended up cutting it off half way through realizing that at the size they were, they would fit my daughter!

I got this KNITTING PATTERN A DAY calendar for Christmas from a friend. As I was flipping through to see what patterns I wanted to make, I came across this and new in an INSTANT that I had to have it!

It is called the Aran bag. I have some BFL aran weight to make it. I cannot wait! It is kind of old fashioned I think, but so beautiful and totally the style I have come to love.

well, I decided to tackle Little Turtle Knits stripey slipper pattern. I made one in a newborn, screwed it up! LOL and am now making a pair for Isabella. I will make the newborn again...I have a friends baby shower coming up.

I got my yarn from JoAnn's today! I cannot wait to do my new Calorimetry with the new colors

I am also starting to purge! *GASP* I am getting rid of some yarn and fabric that I don't need. I cannot believe it. My goal is to take my room back down to normal size and mess...LOL

Well, one of them I sold to a fellow store owner, Amanda of Drip Drop Designs purchased it. She crocheted a few hats of it...and look how it turned out!

well, I decided after seeing this pattern the other day that I HAD to have it, so I whipped it up last night. Knitty's current issue, Calorimetry pattern, it is very cute! but a lot wider than it looks in the picture. I am going to do another one and cut some rows out in the middle to make it smaller

kaitlyn asked santa for a "learn to knit" kit for Christmas, so I threw together this knitting bag for her today--inside it is her knitting stuff that I have for her
Forgive me, but I forgot till after I was done to put interfacing in! LOL
normally it would be stiffer

inside, the flash distorted the pretty corduroy color horribly

Next up, a mini-booga bag.purse I knitted for kaitlyn...this is pretty small as you can see in the size comparison to the pin cushioncascade varigated purple yarn, felted

and last, a scarf I whipped up today for Alexis to go with her hat

I am so pleased with how this turned out! Dh new I wanted/needed a swift. But I really do not like the umbrella ones you can get at JoAnn's...so we found this pattern online and he made it last night! I am dying to play with it, but he won't let me have it till Christmas! LOL

She has addi circulars and the knitpicks options set. She did not buy the binder from them because she thought it was ugly, so I modified my normal circular needle roll pattern to make this for her needles...the addis and the knitpicks as well as dpn's!
